Leslie Lind received her BA in Musicology from UC Berkeley and her teaching credential in Music from San Francisco State University. She taught in public schools for 20 years and has taught privately for over 30 years.
Leslie studied classical, jazz and improv in France for 7 years and performed many different types of music in many different types of groups in various venues, including busking on the streets of Paris! She taught elementary through high school music programs in San Francisco, performing big band and classical music on both flute and alto saxophone.
She moved to Ukiah to teach band in all the elementary schools of Ukiah Unified School District. Leslie has performed on flute and piccolo extensively with the Ukiah Symphony and the Symphony of the Redwoods as well as various chamber groups. Recently retired from teaching in the public schools, she is looking forward to teaching woodwinds (flute, saxophone and clarinet) at the Ukiah School of Music.
Music is, was, and always will be her first love.
