Felicia McFall

Felicia McFall started playing violin at Spring Creek Elementary School in Santa Rosa, California on her mother's violin, with Mr. Walker, the music teacher assisted by his 10 year old daughter, Sheri. At Herbert Junior High school Ms. McFall decided to play viola as she was given a viola from a neighbor and found it a beautiful and much needed instrument. She immediately joined the Sonoma County Youth Symphony led by Eugene Shepherd who encouraged her until college.

Ms. McFall holds a Bachelor and Masters in Music in violin and viola performance and enjoys playing with orchestras (such as our fabulous Ukiah Symphony Orchestra) and is concertmaster of the
Santa Rosa Junior College Orchestra. She also enjoys playing in chamber music groups such as the Gaiaa String Trio led by Richard Heinberg.

She got bit by the theater bug as a teenager with the Santa Rosa Repertory Theater and to this day can often be found playing musical theater averaging about six productions a year) such as Sixth Street Playhouse, Spreckles, Sonoma Arts Live, and Novato Theater Company to name a few.

A professional accordion player as well, she and her late partner David E. Hill (a wonderful violist and violinist) founded Bonjour Accordion, a violin and accordion
duo, (now a collaboration with violinist, Kyle Craft) a favorite of the Sonoma
County Library concerts and the Cotati Accordion Festival kickoffs. Theater
performances on the accordion have included Fiddler on the Roof, La Cage aux Folles, and Spitfire Grill. Ms McFall will be featured on the accordion this summer in My Fair Lady at Sonoma Arts Live.

Ms. McFall is excited about teaching at the Ukiah School of Music and joining the wonderful group of teachers there. She has been a teacher for more than 20 years and loves teaching students of every level and age. She has taught music classes at Mendocino College, Santa Rosa Junior College as well as a number of Waldorf Schools.

"I love teaching music because
it keeps me aware and genuinely involved. Each student has a unique approach to music and something different to offer the musical world."
